Every session in 6th Mind is audio-visual entrainment (AVE): light and sound pulsing together at a steady
rhythm. It's the method we use in our practice office in Sofia. These two packs add a voice that teaches
one small skill over six sessions, with techniques drawn from mindfulness and cognitive approaches. The
guidance thins out as you go, until the last session is mostly yours.
A quiet mind runs in theta, the slow, drowsy band. Each session starts a little faster, to meet a busy
mind where it is, slows down into theta and rises back to a calm, awake alpha at the end. You don't fight
your thoughts or argue with them: you notice one, give it a one-word name and let it pass, like a leaf on
a stream.
A lighter mind holds alpha at around 10 Hz, awake enough to remember. Each session brings back something
small and good: one thing that's fine right now, a good memory, kindness toward someone, then toward
yourself. In one lab study, recalling happy memories dampened the stress response (Speer & Delgado,
2017). Every session ends with one small thing to do next, and it's fine if nothing comes.
Wild sanctuary has no voice: six nature soundscapes, from a quiet grove to rain on the roof. Its last two
go down toward sleep, so save those for the evening.
